The global demand for bubble tea has risen dramatically in recent years. This drink originated in Thailand and was introduced in the early 1980s as a refreshing tea that children could look forward to after school. Lui Han-Chien introduced tapioca pearls in 1982, and they have since become an international phenomenon. The combination of cool and refreshing tea and a soft and chewy pearl was a hit. As a bubble tea enthusiast, there are so many cafés and bubble tea stores opening in Montreal that it’s difficult to decide which one is worth it. Which is why I have created a list to determinate it.
- Maison OThé, with their high quality teas and amazing service
- Gong Cha, with their unique holiday flavors and aesthetic boba shops
- Machi Machi, for their branding
- Coco thé aux perles, for the varieties
- Cocobun bubble tea, for being the only bubble tea that is less than $5
“Embracing the simple joys, one bubble tea at a time.”
